| if you notice any posts saying that you can or saying that its $250 are outdated. You have to buy Ash's ECU from Z1motorsports. Second, why would they give you a discount because you have somone else's eprom mapping? Its not exactly like they can use it. Its the equivilant of buying a Big Mac and taking it to burger king and asking them if you can get thier whopper for half price... It seems you need to know how aftermarket 'ECU's' are different from stock: The ECU itself isn't different. The changes are made in the programming of the eprom. Basically all of the fuel maps are changed to be more aggressive as well as the stock rev limiter being 'increased'(you have more available rpm before limiter kicks in). In some cases timing is altered, depending on chip and your setup. Other things may be factored in depending on the Z. If necessary changes are made to accomodate larger injectors, Nitrous use, dual pop chargers/dual MAS configs, etc. It can all be altered and 'tweaked' to make the most HP. So back to your question, if you have an ECU in your Z, and it has JWT's program and you want Ash's program then basically they will write over the JWT one with Ash's specs. In reality you will probably get a 'new' ECU with Ash's parameters already on it and then send them your ECU for the core refund. You'd be better off selling your JWT and then getting the Ash. my $0.02
I dont waste time trying to prove anything in my Z... I'm too busy enjoying it. ~ZEN |
